It's easy to put off making a will. But if you die without one, then your assets may be distributed according to the law rather than your wishes. This could mean that your partner receives less, or that the money goes to family members who may not need it.
Did you know that in the event of you dying without making a Will your spouse won’t automatically inherit all of your estate. If you die intestate, your spouse will only inherit the first £250k of your estate and an interest in the remainder of it for the rest of their life.
It is therefore important to make sure that your family and close relatives are looked after and that you give careful consideration to how you would like your estate distributed upon your death.
Dealing with someone’s estate following death can be a lengthy process. It isn’t unusual for the process to take several years and become very complicated. It is therefore paramount that you employ an experienced adviser to deal with the deceased’s estate.
Over the years we have built up a relationship with a number of strategic partners, who specialise in this area, regulated by the Law Society. By working closely with our partners, we are able to assess your needs to ensure you are provided with the most comprehensive Estate Planning service.
